A garden to come back to

A shared rear garden for muddy paws and quiet evenings

The cottage has a shared rear garden, ideal for letting the dog out first thing or unwinding after a Cotswold walk. It is a town-cottage garden rather than a fenced paddock, so please supervise smaller or escape-prone dogs.

Inside, original beams, warm finishes and a working farmhouse kitchen make it easy to feed everyone (two-legged and four) after a day on the footpaths.

Walking the dog

Cotswold walks from the cottage door

You can walk straight from Mae Cottage onto the High Street and out onto footpaths through farmland. A short drive opens up the Cotswolds' best-loved walking country.

  • Straight from the door

Out the front and onto the High Street, then footpaths north into open Cotswold farmland within minutes.

  • Batsford Arboretum and estate

About 1.5 miles, leashed dogs welcome in the arboretum on selected paths, with miles of estate lanes around it.

  • Bourton-on-the-Hill and the Sezincote estate

Quiet country lanes and bridleways with classic Cotswold views, around 10 minutes away.

  • Diamond Way and Monarch's Way

Long-distance footpaths cross the area, perfect for half-day circular walks with a pub lunch.
