The Cottage
Character, comfort and a High Street setting come together in this spacious Moreton-in-Marsh cottage.
Please note before you book
The living room features a decorative antique style flintlock wall display rifle. It is mounted on the wall for display only, fully ornamental, non functioning, and must not be handled. We mention it upfront so there are no surprises on arrival.
About the cottage
Experience the Cotswolds in this beautifully restored countryside cottage, perfectly positioned right on the famous High Street in Moreton-in-Marsh, with antique artwork dotted around. It is one of the most sought after locations in the area.
Step outside and enjoy charming cafes, traditional pubs, independent shops, countryside walks, and the popular weekly markets, all just moments from your doorstep. Original character meets modern comfort, with exposed wooden beams, cosy interiors, olive green accents, stylish bathrooms, and thoughtfully designed living spaces throughout.
Whether you are visiting for a relaxing countryside retreat, a family getaway, a contractor stay, a wedding trip, or a longer term visit, Mae Cottage offers a warm and memorable stay in the heart of the Cotswolds.

The story of the cottage
Mae Cottage has been created as a comfortable countryside home rather than an anonymous holiday rental.
Its exposed timbers, antique artwork, character furniture and warm colour palette honour the traditional feel of the property, while modern essentials make everyday stays straightforward.
Guests can gather around the dining area, relax in the living room after exploring, prepare meals in the kitchen or enjoy a quieter moment outside in the garden.

Living & dining
The main living and dining space is designed for relaxed time together.
Original beams, warm finishes and carefully chosen furnishings create a cosy atmosphere, while the dining space provides a central place for breakfasts, evening meals and planning the next day's adventures.
Note: a decorative antique-style flintlock display is mounted securely on the living-room wall. See the notice near the top of this page for more detail. It must not be handled.

Farmhouse kitchen
The farmhouse-style kitchen is equipped for anything from morning coffee to a relaxed family dinner.

Upstairs en-suite shower
Bathrooms
The cottage has two bathrooms, including an upstairs en-suite with a walk-in shower and a separate bathroom with a freestanding bath on the lower floor.
Bedding and towels are provided for registered guests.

Garden & outdoor seating
The rear garden provides a simple outdoor area for fresh air, morning coffee and relaxed evenings. Outdoor seating is provided. The garden is a shared outdoor space with the separate annexe at the rear of the property, which is independently occupied. The cottage itself is exclusively yours for your stay.
The garden belongs to an historic town property and is presented honestly rather than described as extensive landscaped grounds.

Workspace & longer stays
For guests staying longer or working while travelling, the cottage includes fast Wi-Fi and a dedicated vintage writing desk and leather chair in the top-floor bedroom.

Weekly and monthly stays may be available depending on the calendar. Please get in touch to enquire about an extended visit.
